(RED) Auction at Sotheby’s New York
On November 23rd the (RED) Auction, organised and curated by Bono, Sir Jonathan Ive and Marc Newson will celebrate the very best of design and innovation from around the globe. Edward and Jay have donated a unique metal prototype of their London 2012 Olympic Torch. Proceeds from the sale at Sotheby’s New York will benefit The Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Design Museum Exhibition - Jan 2014
Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby are curating an exhibition 'In the Making' for the Design Museum that explores a fascination with the making process. Many unfinished objects have an intrinsic beauty or unexpected characteristics. The exhibition will present everyday objects that have been intercepted mid-manufacture, revealing an intriguing beauty and giving an insight into modern production. 22nd January - 4 May 2014. Barber and Osgerby both receive an OBE
Edward and Jay have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list and awarded OBEs for their services to the design industry.
D&AD Yellow Pencil for Olympic Torch
Barber Osgerby has been awarded a D&AD Yellow Pencil for Product Design for the Olympic Torch. The award is for outstanding achievement for industrial product design. The Yellow Pencil is recognised as a symbol of the very highest creative achievement.
Point Conference, 2-3 May London
Edward and Jay will be speaking at the inaugural Point Conference - evening session Thursday 2nd May, at RIBA London. The event will explore the theme of Authenticity with lectures by creatives from a broad scope of disciplines. More details at pointconference.com.
